Asta Kids

A long time ago in a big city which is magnificent and bustling, there lived an orphan boy. The boy was very skinny and poor, he lives in a ramshackle hut on the side of the town. Every day the little boy works as laborers in milling wheat. His job was to grind wheat into flour. The works are very tough, the little boy had to leave early in the morning and come home in the evening, not to mention he had to move a large rock and heavy milling. Despite working hard, the little boy just got a little reward from his master that stingy. Yet the little boy never complains he is always try to do his job well.
The little boy lived alone, he was only accompanied by his pet, a mongoose. The mongoose is very smart and loyal even it often took the eggs of wild birds or fish to be eaten along with it owner. The little boy loved the mongoose.
One day a rich and kindly old nobleman invite all the needy children and orphans who live in the city to attend the thanksgiving party. Poor children in the town was very excited not to mention the little boy, he went to the party with his pet, the mongoose. The party was so festive, abundant food, music and fun games.
“Well, my children, I have one more game special for you. Look at the wooden door behind with picture of an eagle!” Exclaimed the old nobleman. He pointing to a small wooden door that carved with eagle picture. All the children stared at the wooden door.
“The door is a hallway which is leading to a very special gift. The game is easy, anyone can walk until the end of the hall then he will get the prize.”
“Well it’s very easy Sir!” Cried a little child, wiping his mouth that full of chocolate.
“But it is not as easy as you think son, there are many obstacles that will prevent you to get that special gift. Okay, does anybody want to try?” Most of the kids in the room cheered, they stood huddled in front of the wooden door.
Then the rich nobleman open the wooden door. Some children pushing and fighting to get into first. The little boy who work in the milling wheat also follow that game. But some other kids that bigger push him away and make him become the last contestant, but he did not despair, he vigorously chasing the other kids. The nobleman smiled and closed the door and locked it. Almost all the children who were invited by the nobleman followed the game but some of the kids who are lazy choose to spend the delicious food that is available in abundance on the table rather than follow the game.
Meanwhile, the kids who are running around in the hallway began to feel tired and thirsty. Apparently it was a very long hallway and just lit by the dim candlelight. Some children begin to rant and regret follow this game. But as they walked they saw a bright light. It turns out in the hallway, there are many small rooms. In the bright and beautiful rooms they saw a lot of food and drink that looks delicious. Those who thirst rushed into the rooms. Even in that rooms they also found expensive toys, beautiful clothes and purse containing money. The kids were scrambling to get into these rooms, they do not care anymore about getting a special gift.
“Hey look, this is a lot of money, the clothes are also very beautiful. We take it all back!”
“Yeah you’re right, but what about the race, don’t you want to get a special gift?”
“Ah I think the prize is money. But it seems the hall is still far away, we must be tired if we have to bring this stuff with us. We better go home now.”
“Yes, yes you’re right, I’m tired too.”
“Hey here is the door, well apparently unlocked. See this is the exit, let’s go!” Cried the boy as he opened the door wide. All the children ran out with carrying all wonderful items and the money.
The little boy who work in milling wheat looked at his friends, he actually wants to take the stuff but he remembered the words of the rich nobleman and then he continue to walk. The hallway was still long and the little boy was tired, he stopped for a moment but the mongoose pulled his shirt and asked him to keep going.
Finally the little boy made it to the end of the hallway, he saw there was a door. Happily he open the door but the little boy very surprise when he saw the room was empty and the rich nobleman have stood there greeted him with a smile.
“Congratulations, son, you win. This is your present.” Said the nobleman, handing him a large book that is thick and beautiful.
“Thank you sir!” The little boy exclaimed with excitement.
“You’re not disappointed my boy, even though the prize is only a book?”
“No, sir, when my mother was alive, she used to say that the book is a treasure because it contains valuable knowledge. Unfortunately because we were so poor, I can not buy it. I believed this book is very valuable.” Said the little boy with hugging his book.
“You’re right son, the book contains the knowledge that will make you a wise person, you deserve it because you are a nice boy. But the prize are not only that, the other prizes is a demand.”
“Demand?”
“Little boy, will you be my son?” The little boy surprised amazingly but he was very excited. Finally, the poor child be a wealthy nobleman son.
Well Asta Kids friends life is a journey. Yes, the journey of faith into a beautiful eternal life in heaven. Therefore we must not be tempted by deception the world that make us away from the Lord Jesus Christ. Let us be faithful and obedient to the Lord Jesus whatever happens. Believe that eternal reward in heaven is already available to the children of God who are obedient and faithful.
